Revenue from exports of ferrous metals for 11 months of 2019 amounted to $ 8.2 billion.
This is stated by the data of the customs statistics of the STS.
This is 10.8% less than for the corresponding period of 2018.
Recall that in January-November 2018, Ukraine, on the contrary, increased revenues from exports of ferrous metals by 16.9% compared to the same period in 2017.
In November, revenue from foreign trade in ferrous metal reached $ 596.7 million, which is 14% less than in November 2018.
The significant decrease in indicators is explained by the general decline in the industry in 2019. “This is facilitated by the aggravation of the situation both in foreign markets and domestically. The revenue side is declining due to lower prices on world steel markets, and the cost part is increasing, ”Ukrmetallurgprom analysts explain.
The share of sales of ferrous metals abroad in the country's total export for 11 months of this year amounted to about 18%, and this is 3 pp less than the figure for the same period last year.
In January-November, imports of ferrous metals also decreased - by 7%, to $ 1.17 billion, compared to the same period in 2018. In November, this indicator fell by 21.5% to $ 92.5 million.
