Slag trap is used to separate the slag from the metal, if its density is less than the density of the actual melt. In conventional slag traps, a slag particle moves with the melt and at the same time floats. In a centrifugal slag trap, the melt is brought tangentially, as a result of which the metal is twisted and the slag particles float much faster.
