In 2019, the metallurgical enterprises of Ukraine produced: pig iron 20.05 million tons (-2.5% by 2018), steel - 20.8 million tons (-1.3%), rolled products - 18.16 million tons (-1 ,1%). This is evidenced by operational data of OP “Ukrmetallurgprom”.

In general, during 2019 production forecasts were corrected in the direction of deterioration. For example, in May, according to the results of production in January-April 2019, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade expected that, according to the results of the year, steel production would grow by 7% to 22.64 million tons. In August, according to the results of January-July, the forecast became more pessimistic: steel - an increase of 4%, to 21.9 million tons.

November production results (-14.2%) did not give reasons for optimism. But industrial indicators in December slightly adjusted the final results in the direction of improvement.
Recall that the December forecast of OP “Ukrmetallurgprom” of the 2019 results was not optimistic:
STEEL - 20.5 MILLION T (-2.8% BY 2018);
PIG IRON - UP TO 20 MLN T (-2.7%);
HIRE - UP TO 18 MILLION T (-2%).

It should be noted that by the end of the year the dynamics of production worsened significantly. In November, the pace of decline in industrial production in Ukraine accelerated to 7.5% compared to November 2018. Metallurgical production for the month decreased by 14.2% compared to November 2018. Iron ore production over the month fell by 8.9%.
