Ukraine's steelmakers in January-August this year increased their revenues from ferrous metals exports by 73.15% year-on-year to $8.93bn, according to operational data.

According to the generalized statistics released by the State Customs Service (SCS) on Friday, in August the revenues from exports of ferrous metals amounted to $1.38 billion. At the same time, Ukraine in January-August this year increased imports of similar products by 37.75% - to $900 million. In August the figure amounted to $188.34 million.
 In addition, Ukraine in January-August 2021 increased exports of steel products by 29.67% - up to $750 million in August and supplied them for $92.73 million. During the first eight months of 2021, imports of steel products rose by 25.83% - to $690 million, imported in August by $100.09 million. As reported, metallurgical enterprises of Ukraine in 2020 have reduced export revenues from ferrous metals by 12% compared to the previous year - up to $ 7 billion 690.378 million, while Ukraine in 2020, reduced the imports of similar products by 17% - to $ 1 billion 39.742 million. In addition, Ukraine in 2020, reduced exports of metal products by 13.2% - to $ 904.533 million. For the year, imports of metal products decreased by 20% - to $ 879.687 million.
